Job offer for an Engineer in plant biology

A 24-mounths post-doctoral fellowship renewable - In the frame of a national Infrastructure in biology and omics to develop tools for evaluating bio-solutions (biocontrol and biostimulation)
Background
MAMBO is one of the components of the national distributed infrastructure of the Grand Défi Biocontrol and Biostimulation for Agroecology. MAMBO (Molecular Modeling to Optimize and Develop Evaluation Tools for Bio-solutions for Soil and Plant Health) relies on high-throughput multi-omics approaches combined with advanced statistical analyses and modeling to decipher the molecular mechanisms involved and optimize the evaluation of bio-solutions.
MAMBO therefore provides services and resources dedicated to understanding the molecular modes of action of bio-solutions. Within this framework, we are recruiting a Plant Biology Engineer (IE) at IJPB, the research unit coordinating the MAMBO network.

Main responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the scientific coordinators of the project component (Massimiliano Corso, SEED-DREAM team and Jean-Luc Cacas, PHYGERM team), and in close collaboration with the network partners, your responsibilities will include:
> Designing and conducting experiments to evaluate bio-solutions on plant species.
> Developing automated methods for extracting metabolites (polar/semi-polar, non-polar) using a liquid-handling robot.
Optimizing existing analytical methods (LC-MS/MS, GC-MS) for metabolite quantification.
> Processing and analysing the metabolomics data generated.
Environment
You will be based at IJPB, which offers a unique research environment in plant biology. The Research Engineer will interact with other members of the infrastructure at the national level.

Profile
You hold a Master’s degree (Bac+5) or an engineering degree in plant biology, biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline, with initial experience in academic research or R&D. Practical experience in plant biology is essential.
Experience in metabolomics, sample preparation, chromatography (LC-MS/MS, GC-MS), or biochemical analyses will be considered an advantage. Experience in automating experimental protocols or laboratory robotics would be appreciated but is not essential. You demonstrate scientific rigor, autonomy, organizational skills, and strong initiative. You enjoy working as part of a team and are able to interact with partners from diverse scientific disciplines within a national collaborative project. Good proficiency with computer tools for data processing and analysis is expected, as well as a good command of scientific and technical English. Finally, you are motivated by the development of new methodological approaches and their application to support innovation in biocontrol and biostimulation.
