My research is dedicated on the identification of genetic determinisms of complex traits related to plant performance and to their response to environmental constraints.
During my professional career, I worked on:
- Leaf growth response to water deficit in Maize (PhD 1998-2001 INRA Montpellier – France)
- Root growth under phosphate starvation in Arabidopsis thaliana (Postdoc 2002-2004 CEA Cadarache - France)
- Plant performance using natural variation in Arabidopsis thaliana (2004-2010 Group Leader au Max Planck Institute Cologne – Allemagne)
- Lignocellulosic biomass quality and its responses to water deficit in Maize (2010-present – INRAE Versailles – France)
The objective of my actual research is to identify the genetic bases involved in the variation of lignocellulosic biomass quality and composition in maize. In the context of climate changes, I am also interested in the responses of lignocellulosic biomass quality and composition to water deficit. I am also investigated the link between biomass degradability and distribution of lignified tissues in stem. Results obtained will be used to propose targets to select more digestible and resilient lines to face future climate evolutions. My work is then dedicated to the identification and cloning of genomic regions (QTL for Quantitative Trait Loci) involved in above mentioned traits.
