Mathilde Grelon elected to EMBO Membership
Mathilde Grelon, INRAE senior scientist, leader of the"Meiosis Mechanisms" MeioMe team, has just been elected as a member of EMBO (European Molecular Biology Organization). As an EMBO member, she will contribute to the organization’s activities, including the promotion of research, scientific training, and the strengthening of exchanges between scientists at the European and global levels.
After completing a PhD on the mechanisms of OGURA cytoplasmic male sterility under the supervision of Georges Pelletier1,2 (1992–1995, SGAP*, INRA Versailles, University of Paris XI-Orsay), Mathilde Grelon has dedicated her entire career to studying the mechanisms governing meiotic division. She first undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at CSIRO in Canberra (Australia) under the supervision of Liz Dennis, before joining INRA in Versailles as a researcher (SGAP*, later IJPB) from 1997 onwards. Since its inception, she has led the "Meiosis Mechanisms" MeioMe team.
* SGAP : Plant Genetics and Breeding Station
In connection with the research developed at the Institute Jean-Pierre Bourgin for Plant Sciences.
