Report by e=m6 at the IJPB
Broadcast Sunday, December 8, starting at 8:45 p.m.
On October 18, 2024, the IJPB hosted a feature by e = m6 to address a child’s question: “What are cactus spines for?” The program also delved into related questions: What exactly is a cactus spine? What purpose does it serve? This report showcased how cacti have adapted to extreme environments and highlighted the cutting-edge research conducted at the IJPB.
Cacti are remarkable plants, uniquely adapted to drought and equipped to tackle the challenges of climate change. To find answers, the production team of e=m6 -France's longest-running science popularization show- visited the IJPB.
During their visit, they interviewed Alexis Peaucelle, a researcher from the "Primary Cell Wall" (PAR) team, who specializes in plant cell walls and the observation and analysis of plants using microscopy.
This report shows how cacti have adapted to extreme environments and highlights the cutting-edge research carried out at the IJPB.
