The alternative ways to induced resistance: role of phytohormones, cytoskeleton and cell-to-cell connectivity - Monday 20th September 2023, 2 pm
As sessile organisms exposed to changing environment, plants have to balance resources between growth and defence. The regulation of this balance happens at all levels and is orchestrated by low-molecular regulators - phytohormones. In particular, we focus on the trade-offs of salicylic acid accumulation in plants. Also, our research is devoted to search of various means of plant protection and exploring the mechanisms of action of resistance inducers. We have recently found that disruption of actin cytoskeleton is by itself recognized by plant cells as a signal to trigger induced resistance. Now we explore the mechanism of it, especially the associated changes in transcriptome, production of callose and cell-to-cell connectivity.
