Genomics for Soybean Breeding in Canada: A Decade of Collaboration - Thursday, September 25th 2025 2:00 pm, INRAE, Versailles
The SoyaGen project was a collaborative effort involving Canadian soybean researchers and breeders from academia and the private sector, as well as international collaborators. Its objectives were to develop genomics-based solutions to address real-world challenges faced by breeders. Based on the needs expressed by stakeholders, research efforts focused on increasing yield through optimizing maturity and reducing losses due to major pests. To this end, significant advances were made through the genomic characterization of Canadian germplasm and the development of tools to facilitate the development of higher-performing varieties.
