Activities related to teaching and training and activities intended for a broad audience:
- Participation in the PACTE project (Artistic and Cultural Project in Educational Territory), school year 2019-2020, "Painting and botany, renaissance of an Antique garden", coordinated by Mr. Froissard. This project had a triple artistic, scientific, and heritage objective and involved history, SVT, plastic arts teachers, and INRAE researchers. Collective and contextual work to grow plants cultivated in Antiquity and learn to transpose ancient techniques in the implementation of a large-scale natural mural painting. The aim was to support 50 middle school students from the Jean Bullant College in Ecouen (95) in the various stages of the project, from the composition of the frescoes to the production, including the manufacture of the pigments, the latter stage being handled by INRAE (explanation of the scientific investigation procedures, particularly experimental ones for the extraction of "natural pigments", the study of their stability, their connection with natural oils).
- Participation in science festivals: - i) Development of simple experiments to discover chemistry with 10-minute interactive workshops (slime, chemical volcano, chemical clocks, distillation of essential oils, principle of chromatography, scientific police, etc.). - ii) With Saclay Plant Sciences (SPS), on the theme of crystallography: Popularization of science through fun experiments ranging from crystallizing small chemical molecules to observing protein crystals and three-dimensional structures of enzymes. - iii) Preparation of online science festivals with Ile-de-Science: creation of educational technical sheets adaptable to different audiences with Mr. Bonnet, student of the master's degree "Events, Mediation of Arts and Sciences" at the University of Paris-Saclay. The sheets cover, among other things, the extraction of starch, the extraction of plant pigments, the creation of bioplastics, oilseeds, chromatography.
- Participation in the organization of the traveling exhibition "PerceptionS de la Recherche", coordinated by Mr. Froissard, with the Diagonale Paris-Saclay, in partnership with the Commanderie d'Elancourt, urban community of Saint Quentin en Yvelines and the Master 1 "Chemistry and life sciences", course "Formulation, Sensory Evaluation and Analysis of the Perfumery, Cosmetics and Food Aromatic Industries" (FESAPCA) of the École Supérieure du Parfum / the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. This photo exhibition with sounds and perfumes allowed to discover the world of research differently, through atmospheres; the daily life of our place of experimentation and production of knowledge was restored through sensory perception and art.
- Participation in the Femmes & Sciences mentoring program at Paris-Saclay University, aiming to advise and support “mentored” female doctoral students during a pivotal period in building their careers.
- Participation in supervising third-year middle school students: popularizing and explaining the team’s work through educational experiments (themes: polymers, bioplastics, biorefinery, green chemistry, bioeconomy).
- Participation in experimental project preparation with middle and high school classes from the Versailles academy (themes: polymers, bioplastics, biorefinery, green chemistry, bioeconomy).
