We have developed new biotechnological tools (vectors, prototype vacuum chamber for the transformation of camelina) but also patented a new micropressing device for the extraction of oil from seeds.
The development of CRISPR-type gene editing tools combined with efficient Goldengate-type cloning strategies now allows us to conduct much more efficient engineering strategies.
In this context, we are testing the possibility of using camelina as a "sentinel plant" to monitor environmental or physiological changes (Querard et al. 2017).
