Design, Engineering, Compartmentalization of Lipid Metabolism

The DIPOL team is involved in several areas of innovation.

We have developed new biotechnological tools (vectors, prototype vacuum chamber for the transformation of camelina) but also patented a new micropressing device for the extraction of oil from seeds.

The development of CRISPR-type gene editing tools combined with efficient Goldengate-type cloning strategies now allows us to conduct much more efficient engineering strategies.
In this context, we are testing the possibility of using camelina as a "sentinel plant" to monitor environmental or physiological changes (Querard et al. 2017).
