Portrait - Kévin Magne, young researcher in the field of the physiology of plant-microorganism interactions, 26/3/24
Kévin Magne has been a research Scientist at INRAE since November 2023 in the "Symbiotic Nitrogen Acquisition in Plant-Microbe Systems" SYNAPS team led by Alia Dellagi. The SYNAPS team aims to better understand and exploit the microbiome of major cereal crops to improve nitrogen use in plants and reduce the use of synthetic nitrogen fertilizers. Today, Kévin Magne is developing and studying the beneficial effects of the common mycorrhizal network in the context of associated cereals and legumes.

Can genome editing help transitioning to agroecology?, 3/20/24
In a review paper published in iScience, Fabien Nogué, head of the "DNA Repair and Genome Engineering" DRAGON team, discussed with other INRAE researchers the potential interest of genome editing technologies for agroecological change. This article provides a comprehensive overview of scientific knowledge on genome editing for agroecological transition, drawing on multidisciplinary approaches that include biological, agronomic, economic, and social sciences.

Specialized metabolite modifications in Brassicaceae seeds and plants: diversity, functions, and associated enzymes, 2/29/24
Specialized metabolites (SMs) play an essential role in the interaction of plants and seeds with their environment. SMs of the same metabolic category have a common chemical structure whose modifications (or decorations) correspond to the addition or removal of functional groups such as hydroxyl, methyl, glycosyl, or acyl. In a recent review published in Natural Product Reports, members of the SEEDEV and PHYGERM teams and  from the PO-Chem platform provide a synthesis of current knowledge on SM modifications in Brassicaceae plants, including the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana and agricultural species such as camelina and rapeseed.
