Visit of Laurent Buisson, director general of AgroParisTech, and members of his team

Laurent Buisson and members of his team welcomed at the IJPB

 Director general of AgroParisTec since November 15, 2021, Laurent Buisson came to visit the IJPB, a joint INRAE-AgroParisTech research unit, on Tuesday April 12, 2022. He was accompanied by two members of his team: Emmanuelle Babsky, chief of staff of AgroParisTech, and Alexandre Péry, director of research and Development of AgroParisTech.

Laurent Buisson was first welcomed to the Jean Rebischung amphitheater for a general presentation of the IJPB's Research and Training perimeter, followed by a presentation of the work conducted and developed by the 16 AgroParisTech teacher-researchers, engineers and technicians of the unit, who are attached to 5 research teams:  Management of Nitrogen and Crops Productivity (GAPV), Cell Differentiation and Polarity (DIPOL), Germination Physiology (PHYGERM), Dynamics and Structure of Lipid Bodies (DYSCOL) and  Lignocellulosic Biopolymers: from parietal assemblies to synthons for green chemistry (APSYNTH). The visit continued with the discovery of the research laboratories and 4 platforms of the Plant Observatory (PO): PO-Chemistry/Metabolism (PO-Chem), PO-Cytology/Imaging (PO-Cyto), PO-Biochemistry (PO-Bioch) and finally the PO-Phenoscope (PO-Pheno).

The IJPB is involved in the coordination of the Erasmus Mundus joint master degree Bioceb (Biological and Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable Bioeconomy) as well as the BIP (Integrative Biology and Physiology) master degree, in particular with the M1 Plant BIP – M2 Plant Sciences course, which is the cornerstone of the EUR SPS. Courses supervised and designed by AgroParisTech teachers take place at IJPB. A pratical classroom dedicated to teaching is equipped with sophisticated scientific laboratory equipment.

AgroParisTech, the national institute for life sciences and environmental industries, was founded in 2007. It is the result of the merger of three prestigious engineer schools:
> the Institut national agronomique Paris-Grignon (INA-PG) ;
> École nationale du génie rural, des eaux et des forêts (ENGREF)
> École nationale supérieure des industries agricoles et alimentaires (ENSIA).
Under the supervision of the Ministries of Agriculture and Higher Education, AgroParisTech is a founding member of the Université Paris-Saclay.
